We should all be considering buy local made. Support your local farmers, manufacturers etc.
I worked for industrial Supplies Office (NZISO) many years back, now called Industry Capability Network. We helped with govt purchasing by sourcing local made goods and services, ran the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS). Expanding that area into a NZ wide networking for all to use could identify a lot of stuff that can be made locally which would help out in rebuilding our manufacturing sector rather than importing heaps.
As well as helping the manufacturing base there are heaps of natural products NZ could do very well with.. wool for instance has many uses but synthetics took over. Wool carpets & wool clothing are better for your health. Support the NZ farmers.. use the raw materials here for locals and export finished products world wide.
Realistically, it’s all about the price, which needs to be competitive.
