I can recommend a book called Regenerative Agriculture – A practical whole systems guide to making small farms work. by Richard Perkins
Also there’s Electroculture or Electro-Horticulture, which increases plant growth, increases yields and grows healthier plants using atmospheric electricity and has been around for the last 200 years but I believe is little used due to fertilizer promotion. Check out cultivateelevate.com

Food Forests should be considered in every city suburb (might need to clear a few homes to make a large area available). The food forest will take a few years to establish larger nuts & fruit trees, veggies underneath. The area will provide a variety of fresh crops for the locals.

I think food forests/agroforestry is the way to go, they take a bit to set up, and need managing. but in the long run they prove to provide a better growing environment for fruit/nut trees. Improves soil at the same time.
If you want to learn there is a guy in Awakeri BOP doing this successfully. He teaches all his info online.. http://www.youtube.com/@byrongrows
